These programmes are designed to shape and re-model the children to be well grounded and affirmed citizens who can improve their skills to stand a chance at making a living. Essential skills to survive in varying environments will be imparted. Funding is required to provide essential assistance to the identified impoverished youth in the communities.

BASIC NEEDS SUPPORT PROGRAMME
Basic needs are a necessity for children to adjust well and be able to learn effectively. These programme promotes equality at schools. It seeks to ensure that learners are dressed appropriately similar to their peers and also have all the stationery/books/study guides required e.g. calculators, pencil cases, instruments, toiletries etc. These programme will benefit children of school going age. The parcels will be distributed at their schools in January of every year. The food parcels will be delivered in December-February of every year, these will benefit various identified families.
PERSONAL GROOMING AND CIRRUCULUM ENHANCEMENT
The programme focuses on empowering the youth to be assertive and be able to express themselves when engaging with prospective business partners/employers.
The programme will benefit grade 12 and those who have completed matric and are actively seeking employment or exploring owning their businesses. Service providers will be sourced from reputable and accredited service providers. The programme includes:
- Basic character building
- Life skills coaching
- Public speaking
- Saturday classes in mathematics and science
ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAMME
Exposure to short term training will open up doors to many opportunities and to some extend assist the youth to enhance their chance of being employed or to become budding entrepreneurs.
Training will benefit grade 11, 12 and those who have completed matric but do not have funds to study further. Distinct training courses as well as business mentorship will be provided the following fields:
- Basic business etiquette skills
- Governance
- Leadership skills
- Tablets for computer skills training
CRITERIA
Grade 11 pupils will be identified from public schools in and around Pretoria. These will be children from impoverished backgrounds. Some will benefit in one or more of the programmes listed above. As an added value the children will be linked with other Government/NGO programmes until they are self-sustainable. The support will be prolonged and will be ceased once the children reach a sustainable or are in a better position to make a livelihood. UFG is passionate about individual growth therefore does not believe in once-off or short intervention initiatives.
